Eskom: No load shedding anticipated for the weekend

The power utility said no load shedding is anticipated during the weekend

On Friday Eskom said they have successfully eased pressure on the generation systems and the units were returned to service.

“No load shedding is anticipated for the weekend. However Eskom warns that the system remains vulnerable and unpredictable,” said Eskom’s spokesperson Sikonathi Mantsantsa.

Eskom teams successfully returned a generation unit each at the Duvha, Kriel, and Tutuka power stations to service. These have helped ease the generation capacity constraints, enabling us to suspend load shedding for the weekend, added Mantsantsa.

Mantsantsa has urged the public to continue using electricity sparingly as the system remains vulnerable and unpredictable.
