Hard lockdown not an option yet despite the rapid increase of covid19 infections says Cyril Ramaphosa
This was addressed by President Cyril Ramaphosa during his readiness oversight visit in Mpumalanga province yesterday.
The President has sent a stern warning, calling on the public to continue to practicing social distancing, protecting themselves through washing of hands and wearing masks among others.
During his visit, Ramaphosa has further commended the provincial government on its strategy and health response in dealing with Covid19.
He added that government was not considering going back to hard lockdown however, they are seeking to balance saving lives of the people as well as preserving livelihoods.
Ramaphosa further added that the government is developing ways of responding to the alarming job losses.
To date the Mpumalanga Province has recorded a total of 1478 covid-19 infections with 520 recoveries and 9 fatalities.
